LAUNCH OF NATIONAL TREE WEEK 2025 – SUNDAY 9TH MARCH

FREE EVENT!

2:00PM: Join us for a discussion on the future of tree planting in Ireland.

VENUE: Auditorium, National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin

TOPIC: Trees for a Changing Future
This topic will cover what climate changes Ireland might expect in the next 30 years and how we can plant trees that will thrive in these changing circumstances.

PARTICIPANTS (awaiting confirmation on two others):

  • ÉANNA NÍ LAMHNA
    Eanna Ni Lamhna is an author and broadcaster. A former President of the Tree Council of Ireland, she has been writing and speaking about Ireland’s Biodiversity all her life, currently in the weekly Eye on Nature column in the Irish Times.
  • EAMON RYAN
    Eamon Ryan was leader of the Green Party from 2011 until 2024. He was minister for Transport and minister for Environment, Climate and Communications in the Coalition Government from 2020 to 2025.

Followed by: A ceremonial tree planting at the National Botanic Gardens
