Join us for Halloween at Glasnevin 2025 for some very special spooky events!

Get ready for lots of plant based thrills this Halloween, starting with our Harvest Display from Friday 10th October until Sunday 2nd November. This fabulously designed display will showcase not only the diversity of pumpkins, squash and gourds that can be grown in our climate but also kale, beans, corns, crab apples, quince and other seasonal fruit.

Drop-off day for the Decorated Pumpkin Competition is Saturday 18th October 11am – 4pm, at the Teak House with your completed application form. All the entries will be on display in the Teak House daily until Sunday the 2nd November, freshness permitting.

Sunday the 19th is our big Halloween at Glasnevin day kicking off at 12noon with the Decorated Pumpkin Competition prize giving! Join us for Magical Plants in the Witches Garden. Come in your best Halloween costumes and play outdoor puzzles and games with Maths Week Ireland. Our offering for adults is the Samhain Embers Tour will be held at 11.30 and 3pm. The Witches Garden will also be in full swing from Monday 27th to Friday 31st with Magical Plants where you can discover all about some real life weird and wonderful plants. These are drop-by events are for families, and run from 11am-12pm and 3pm-4pm each day. No need to book, first come first served.

Magical Plants for schools will run from Monday 20th to Friday 24th October. Booking in advance essential through botanicgardens@opw.ie.

In the run up to Halloween our special themed tour Samhain Embers (for adults) will be held every day from Monday 20th to Friday 31st at 3pm. Boo-king is at Eventbrite.
