Join us for Heritage Week 2025 from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th August for tours, workshops and events at the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin! This years theme is Exploring our Foundations. which invites us to delve into the building blocks of our heritage; not just the structures, but the landscapes and cultural activities that have shaped us.
Here at the Gardens we start Heritage Week with Turas Ginearálta de Garraithe na Lus, an Anthotype workshop along with Oasis in the City and the special Blight & Bounty themed tour which on the following Wednesday will also have a Blight & Bounty PLUS a special Famine Themed Library Visit. Throughout the week will see tours such as Foundations: The Origin and Development of the NBG and A Journey through Time – Exploring Prehistoric Plants. This year we will also be having a library tour An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger) & the role of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin: 1845-1847.
