Autumn Heritage Series: Plant Hunters Tour

In the post-medieval period access to the wider world becomes easier and the thirst for botanical knowledge spreads. Curious and intrepid individuals set out on exciting, treacherous and extremely dangerous expeditions to distant shores, often negotiating difficult terrain and encountering obstacles unlike anything they have previously experienced. From the 19th century to the modern day these once amazing adventures have now become important scientific expeditions undertaken to discover new species and protect rare botanical gems. Join us to discover these amazing stories of adventure, determination and endeavour as we reveal the tales of the plant hunters.
