Halloween at Glasnevin is back for 2022!

Get ready for lots of plant based spookiness this Halloween, starting with our Harvest Display on Saturday the 22nd of October. This fabulously designed display will showcase not only the diversity of pumpkins, squash and gourds that can be grown in our climate but also kale, beans, corns, crab apples, quince and other seasonal fruit harvested from the gardens. If you visit us the week starting Monday the 17th October you will see the construction of the display in action – a sneak peak of the final display which will be ready for the 22nd October!

The Decorated Pumpkin Competition returns in person – you can bring your spook-tacularly decorated offerings for the competition on Saturday the 22nd October between 11am and 4pm. They will be on display in the Teak House until Sunday the 6th October, freshness permitting. Read all the entry requirements and download your Decorated Pumpkin Competition form 2022.

Sunday the 23rd is our big Halloween Day kicking off with the Pumpkin Decorated Competition prize giving! Come in your best Halloween costumes and play puzzles and games with Maths Week Ireland on the lawns. The Witches Garden will be in full swing with Magical Plants where you can discover all about some real life weird and wonderful plants.

Don’t forget the following weekend Sunday the 30th and Monday the 31st October you can join the coven for more Magical Plants and download or collect a copy of our bewitching Magical Plants Halloween Trail 2022 from reception in the Visitor Centre to follow through the gardens at your peril!
