This Easter, Harry and Ciara show us how to colour eggs with natural plant dyes.

Things you will need:
Eggs
Plant dyes – we used turmeric, red cabbage, nettles, onion skins, blueberries and beetroot but you can try others. Think about coffee and tea, spinach, other spices etc.
White Vinegar
Old tights or muslin squares
Thread or string
Collected foliage and flowers for decoration
Oil

Tips to make your eggshells strong:
When boiling your eggs start off with cold water, this will stop them cracking
It’s best to use eggs which have been in your fridge for a few days and have dried out a bit. This makes their shells a bit harder.
