Biodiversity Month Tour: Fascinating Flowers – The Biology of Blooms

May 21, 2023 @ 2.00pm - 3.00pm

€5

For thousands of years, humans have been fascinated by flowers – their beauty and variety, their colours and scents. We sow their seeds, grow them in gardens, pluck their petals. and use them in every aspect of our lives. But what is a flower, and what is its role for the plant that it grows on? What are they made of, how long have they been here, and how do they work for the good of the plant? Join us in the Gardens for an exploration of these beautiful and remarkable biological features, amazing examples of biodiversity.

At the National Botanic Gardens we are holding Biodiversity Month throughout May to celebrate the wonders of Irish biodiversity. As always National Biodiversity Week will be running from 19th to 28th May 2023.

€5 per person. Book here
