Artefact DescriptionThe Siku pipe or panpipe originates from the Peruvian Andes. It is associated with the musical genre sikuri. The siku consists of five or more pipes that decrease in size. On double pipes, the outer row is usually shorter in length. Pipes can reach up to 80cm in length, the longer pipes giving a deepter tone. The pipes are closed at one end. It is played by blowing horizontally across the open end and against the inner wall of the pipes.
