The Plenary Lecture at IPSAM 2012 will take place on Wednesday 4th April and will
be given by Professor Pär Ingvarsson of Umeå University, Sweden. The title of his talk
is Adaptation to local photoperiod in European aspen - A genomics perspective
Professor Ingvarsson works on problems related to plant evolutionary genetics and
population genetics theory. Current projects in the lab include the importance of
population structure in determining patterns and rates of divergence during speciation,
the importance of hybridization and polyploidization in plant speciation and the effects
of mating system on the distribution of genetic variation in geographically structured
populations.
